Mon Health Medical Staff & Advanced Practice Provider Categories

Active Staff
Consists of physicians, dentists, oral surgeons, and podiatrists, each of whom are involved in at least 12 patient contacts per appointment team. 

Courtesy Staff
Consists of physicians, dentists, oral surgeons, and podiatrists, each of whom is involved in no more than 6 patient contacts per year (involvement in a greater number of patient contacts shall result in automatic transfer to the Active Staff).

Outpatient Affiliate Staff
Consists of physicians, dentists, oral surgeons, and podiatrists who desire to be associated with the Hospital and who request Hospital services for their patients. The primary purpose of the Outpatient Affiliate Staff is to promote professional and educational opportunities, including continuing medical education, and to permit these individuals access to Hospital services for their patients. For example, physicians who desire to be associated with the Hospital for the purpose of ordering services at the Hospital Infusion Center for their patients. 

Telemedicine Staff
Consists of physicians, each of whom are currently practicing at a distant hospital that participates in Medicare or a telemedicine entity (as that term is defined by Medicare), and the hospital or telemedicine entity is accredited by CMS and/or The Joint Commission. Members of the Telemedicine Staff will be placed in other staff categories if they provide patient care services while physically located at the Hospital.

Clinical Coverage Providers
Consists of any licensed physician, such as a Resident or Fellow, employed or contracted part time by the Hospital to perform duties in a specialty under the supervision of specific members of the Medical Staff, but who perform these duties outside the scope of an approved Residency or Fellowship program. 

Advanced Practice Providers
Consists of any individual, other than a licensed physician, dentist, oral surgeon, or podiatrist, who are granted privileges to practice in the Hospital and are directly involved in patient care.
