At Mon General Hospital, we are proud of both our outpatient and inpatient programs for people who have diabetes or prediabetes. The more you know about these diseases, the easier it will be for you to make lifestyle changes to prevent or manage them, and lead a healthier and happier life.
The Diabetes Learning Center of Mon General Hospital
has been recognized by the American Diabetes Association for Quality Self-Management Education. Our goal is to educate people with diabetes and pre-diabetes about self-care and decision making to assist them in living well.
The Diabetes Education Series
can provide you with a wide range of education, outreach, and support programs to help you manage your condition and live the healthiest life possible. All of following programs require a physician’s referral:
Diabetes Self-Management Education
Gestational Diabetes Education
If you’re at high risk of developing diabetes (pre-diabetes), our National Diabetes Prevention Program
can help you understand your risk, and make needed changes to reduce your chance of getting it. Not only is this program free of charge, it does not require a physician referral as long as you meet the criteria to participate.
If you have diabetes and are a patient in the hospital, we provide Inpatient Diabetes Education
, as ordered by your healthcare provider. We want to send you home with the information and starter supplies you need to manage your condition and enjoy your life.
Mon General Hospital is committed to empowering you with information you need to manage your diabetes or pre-diabetes. The information in our Diabetes Health Library is reliable and accurate. We hope you find it useful.
